Luke Dvorak && Devil's Advocate
Sometimes the only pay-off for having any faith
Is when it's tested again and again everyday.

"Well, here we are, buddy." Luke looked up the blue-black horse he held by a lead rope attached to a halter. He thanked his lucky stars again that Dev had loaded quietly this time - sometimes his ornery friend could be difficult, but he had made his trip well, and now only seemed curious about their new surroundings. Luke was too, he had to admit, but he didn't want to rush anything just yet. For now, he just had to find Dev's stall and get everything settled. He had a lot of equipment to move, after all.
"Come on, then," He urged, clicking lightly to motivate Dev to follow after him. He looked down at the piece of paper with the stall number written on it - 18. He smiled a bit, amused by the coincidence of getting his age for Dev's stall. As they approached it, he sped up just a little, lengthening his stride to peer inside. Someone had been kind enough to put down fresh straw and there was even a bit of hay in a feeding bucket just inside the door.
"This looks pretty nice, don't you think, Dev?" Luke inquired of the horse, who only snorted in reply as he followed the boy inside. Luke unclipped the lead rope from the halter, affectionately stroking his horse's nose before he stepped outside again. Well, that was his intention, anyway. Back to his usual tricks, Dev stepped to the side, pinching Luke against the wall.
"Dev, not today, I have a lot to do for you, you fuzz butt." He chided, though he was still smiling - this was pretty typical, and if Dev was feeling up to his old tricks, then that was a good sign for him settling into their new home for the foreseeable future. Dev whickered, clearly amused, but stepped away just long enough for Luke to make a break for it. He latched the door shut behind him and waggled his finger at the blue Fresian. "Now you stay here, all right? I'll be back with your stuff."
Dev poked his head over the door as he watched Luke go, who pretended not to notice as he walked back out to the trailer. He had already unloaded all of Dev's tack and tools into a pile to the side, as the trailer he'd hired would be driving back out to pick up another horse soon. He thanked the driver and waved him off, openly glad his parents had helped with some of the moving costs ahead of time. That bill would have been... He decided not to think about it. He had a lot of bills to take care of now, might as well just forget about the ones he thankfully didn't have to pay.
As he reached for his tack bucket, he realized that there was no way he could carry all of this stuff alone. If anything, it would be multiple trips. Ever determined, he did his best to carry the bucket, the bridle, and reached for the saddle...
Only to watch all of it dump back onto the ground. He sighed loudly. "Great. Just great." He grumbled as he bent down to start picking up what he had dropped.
